Managing Machine Profiles and Rate Cards

A guide to defining your machines, supported materials, and rate card so you receive the right matches.

Goal

The platform routes RFQs to you based on your machine profile and rate card. This guide helps you set the profile up to reflect your real capacity and keep it current; an accurate profile brings work you can produce instead of work you must decline.

Setup

  1. Add each machine as its own record: technology (FDM, SLA, CNC...), make/model, and the real work envelope.
  2. List only materials you stock or can source reliably.
  3. Build a realistic rate card: machine-hour rate, minimum order value, and setup cost. Winning a match at a loss costs more than declining it.
  4. Keep your schedule and capacity windows current; pausing new RFQs in full weeks protects your lead-time reliability.

Operating Rhythm

Update the profile the same day you add a new material or machine. Temporarily disable a machine during long maintenance, holidays, or breakdowns. Review the rate card quarterly; if energy or filament costs changed, reflect them in the card instead of silently absorbing them.

Quality Bar

The work envelope and tolerance class you declare are the foundation of every quote you send. Leave a safety margin when quoting a job at your machine's limit; being unable to produce what you declared affects more than one order — it affects your rating.

Troubleshooting

If you receive no matches, first check your material list and minimum order value; a too-narrow list or a high minimum filters you out. If you receive too many unsuitable RFQs, sharpen the technology and envelope data on your machine records.
