Order Production Workflow and Photo Proof
A guide to carrying an accepted order through production steps, status updates, and photo proof to delivery.
Goal
This guide explains how a Creator with an accepted quote manages the order through production, quality control, and shipping. The aim is to give the customer visibility at every stage and reduce dispute risk.
Setup
- Re-verify the file, material, and tolerance notes one last time before starting production.
- If any requirement is unclear, resolve it by message before production; do not assume.
- Give a realistic machine slot and estimated lead time when accepting the order.
Operating Rhythm
Update the order state at every stage: in production, in quality control, shipped. The longer a status update is delayed, the more the customer has to chase you; proactive updates build trust. If an unexpected problem appears during production (tangled filament, out-of-spec dimension, scrap), share it early with a revised lead time instead of hiding it.
Quality Bar
Upload photo proof before shipping: an overall view of the part, caliper verification of critical dimensions, and close-ups of cosmetic surfaces. Photo proof speeds up customer approval and protects you in a potential dispute. Do not ship a part that misses the quality you quoted; reprinting is cheaper than a dispute.
Troubleshooting
If the customer reports a problem after delivery, work through the photo proof and message history. For dimensional complaints, ask which measurement method was used. When a case cannot be resolved, start the platform's dispute process and keep all communication on the platform.
