Definition
RFQ means "Request for Quote." In Fabberworks, a customer uploads an STL, STEP, DXF, or Gerber file, adds quantity, material, tolerance, delivery, and finishing expectations, then receives quotes from matching Creators.
Related Terms
- DFM: checking manufacturability before quoting.
- CNC: a common process family for subtractive manufacturing work.
- FDM: a common process for fast and accessible 3D printing quotes.
Common Uses
An RFQ is useful when price depends on more than raw material: tolerance, lead time, machine availability, quality requirements, and delivery location all matter.
